10.56pm It wasn’t looking good for Trinbago Knight Riders when their innings appeared to stall through the middle overs. Tim David was not hitting it well either, but when it came down to the final over, he showed why exactly he is one of the most dangerous finishers in the T20 format. Of course, the OG big-hitter cannot be ignored either. It was Russell’s four sixes, including three in one over, that brought the equation down to something David could manage.

A superb game, innit? It appeared to be a one-sided affair when Guyana Amazon Warriors were 76/7 in the first innings. Then Romario Shepherd’s stunning half-century evened things up. When Amazon Warriors started strongly with the ball and reduced TKR to 89/5, it appeared the home crowd would be silenced, however the home side have invested in some amazing middle and lower-order batters, and that came to the fore when the stakes got high. Especially pleasing for Dwayne Bravo, playing one of his last few games at the Queen’s Park Oval. Or maybe even his last one!
