Pakistan, Bangladesh agree to enhance cooperation against cybercrime, online fraud | The Express Tribune

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met his Bangladeshi counterpart, Salahuddin Ahmed, with both sides agreeing to increase cooperation in areas of mutual interest, the interior ministry said on Friday.
According to the post on X, the meeting discussed training and exchange programmes for police officers. The two ministers also agreed to enhance cooperation to prevent cybercrime and online fraud.
“The ministers also held a detailed discussion on the US-Iran conflict and the current situation in the Middle East,” the post added.
Ahmed appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in establishing peace.
Naqvi said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir had played “an unforgettable role for peace”, adding that “we must seize new opportunities to further strengthen our mutual ties”.

Earlier, Naqvi met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the regional situation and a range of international issues.

During the meeting, Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at ending conflicts in West Asia, as well as the United Nations’ peacekeeping initiatives, with particular emphasis on Pakistan’s longstanding and invaluable contributions to UN peacekeeping operations, were also focused. The UN Secretary-General appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace, said a news release issued here.
