Dolly Parton fulfills 40-year-old dream despite health setbacks

Dolly Parton is dealing with ongoing health challenges that have forced her to slow down, but she hasn’t stopped chasing her goals.
Although she missed the opening of a major Dollywood attraction and stepped back from performances, she continued to build new projects and finally her 40-year-old dream is coming to life.
The Jolene hitmaker is eyeing to create her own coffee brand called Cup of Ambition, inspired by the famous “cup of ambition” lyric from her 1980 hit 9 to 5.
She has now partnered with Community Coffee to bring the idea to life, with nationwide online shipping expected to begin in September. Parton, 80, says the idea has been in her mind for more than four decades.
“That’s a dream I’ve had for over 40 years, ever since I wrote the line about ‘cup of ambition’ in my song 9 to 5,” she stated. “But, you know, some dreams take longer to come to life than others.”
The Powerful Women singer is proving that health setbacks haven’t dimmed her energy a bit towards the ambition she had had in her mind.
Although, she has not publicly disclosed a specific diagnosis, the Rhinestone actress has been relatively open about having ongoing health issues.
The most recent setback happened on August 14, when Parton was supposed to attend the dedication/opening of Dollywood’s new NightFlight Expedition coaster.
Instead, she appeared through a recorded video from her home in Nashville, explaining, “I’ve told you before, all my fans, that I’ve had a few little health issues and sometimes I get a little dizzy and I get dehydrated. And I’m dehydrated.”
Moreover, earlier this year, Parton also canceled her Las Vegas residency while continuing medical treatment.
She revealed that she was responding well to medication and treatments but wasn’t ready to perform.
