Rani Mukerji keeps it classic and lovely in a cream saree at Sabyasachi’s Delhi store launch

Rani Mukerji has always had a soft spot for Sabyasachi’s creations, and honestly, it’s easy to see why the combination works so well. At the designer’s Delhi store launch, the actress turned up in a cream silk saree that was understated, elegant and very much in keeping with her style. There was no need for an overly dramatic look here. The beauty was in how simple it felt.Rani wore a lustrous cream silk saree that draped beautifully around her. The soft, neutral colour worked particularly well against her complexion, giving the whole look a warm, polished feel. We want to see the fabric, the drape, the jewellery and all those little details that can get lost in wider event pictures.Still, even from the available glimpses, Rani looked lovely.Rani and Sabyasachi are a natural fashion pairingRani and Sabyasachi have had a long-standing fashion association, and the actress has worn the designer’s work on several occasions. From classic sarees to more contemporary silhouettes, his creations have often suited her preference for clothes that feel elegant without looking like they’re trying too hard. That’s perhaps what makes this latest appearance work. The cream saree wasn’t screaming for attention. It simply looked good on her.Rani also stayed away from piling on accessories, allowing the saree to remain the focus. The pearl choker and silver bag were enough to add character without taking away from the clean, graceful look.At a time when celebrity event dressing can sometimes lean heavily towards sequins, embellishments and statement pieces, Rani’s quieter approach feels refreshing. And this cream Sabyasachi saree? We’d happily take a few more close-up pictures, please.
