Tamannaah lit up the runway in two breathtaking looks that embodied the mystical romance of Rahul Mishra’s couture vision.

Tamannaah Bhatia brings celestial grace to Rahul Mishra’s ‘Becoming Love’ at Hyundai India Couture Week 2025.

The 18th edition of Hyundai India Couture Week 2025 kicked off in New Delhi on July 23, setting the tone with an ethereal yet rooted showcase by Rahul Mishra. Taking centre stage was Tamannaah Bhatia, who delivered not just one but two striking fashion moments, marking an unforgettable start to the season.

Titled Becoming Love, Mishra’s couture collection offered a soul-stirring interpretation of love through the lens of Sufi mysticism charting its emotional evolution from infatuation to transcendence. Drawing from the spiritual and symbolic, the designs incorporated divine imagery such as blooming lotuses, the celestial Raas Leela of Lord Krishna, and dreamlike representations of heavenly gardens. The collection, which followed his Paris Haute Couture Week presentation, was reshaped with the Indian audience in mind, steeped in cultural motifs and exquisite detailing.

Tamannaah’s runway debut felt like a moment lifted from a dream. She glided in a hand-embroidered gown, a cascade of florals and luminous sequins that shimmered gently under the lights—each step a subtle transformation, like the soul unfolding in love. The palette danced with her movement, echoing the tender unraveling of self into another, in a quiet ballet of colour and feeling.

This poetic vision found its perfect counterpart in our collaboration with Rivaah by Tanishq, whose bridal jewellery honours the seven rare techniques of Indian craftsmanship — Meenakari, Badroom ka Kaam, Partash ka Kaam, Takkar ka Kaam, Talaf ka Kaam, Filigree, and Ras Rawa ka Kaam. Like the seven emotional stages of love, each technique tells a story of devotion and dexterity—sculpting heirlooms that carry not just beauty, but memory, legacy, and soul.

At the heart of Rivaah’s showcase stood the modern Indian bride: the sutradhar of her own wedding, narrating her journey with grace, intention, and individuality. Rooted in heritage but guided by modern choices, she seeks adornment that mirrors her duality. For her, Rivaah unveiled a new language of bridal design—contemporary yet timeless, steeped in India’s artistry but shaped with a global sensibility.

Her second walk, however, grounded the dreamscape in sheer couture opulence. She reappeared in a dazzling lehenga drenched in ornate embroidery and star-like sequins. Though the silhouette paid homage to traditional forms, the styling felt utterly contemporary — polished yet bold, with Tamannaah adding her signature flair to the look.

While Rahul Mishra’s garments were a conceptual journey through myth, cosmos, and emotion, it was Tamannaah who truly animated them. She didn’t merely wear the couture; she became its living, breathing embodiment. If the opening night was anything to go by, the rest of Couture Week promises to be just as spellbinding.
