Iranian delegation holds key meetings ahead of US talks in Switzerland – SUCH TV

Iranian negotiators held a series of meetings with Pakistani, Qatari and Swiss officials ahead of talks with the United States in Switzerland on Sunday.
The high-level Iranian delegation, led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, met with Pakistani officials at the Bürgenstock Hotel, where four-way talks involving Iran, the United States, Pakistan and Qatar began on Sunday afternoon.
Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, met Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, as Qalibaf held talks with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
The consultations were aimed at advancing implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and supporting efforts to end regional hostilities that erupted after the US-Israeli coalition attacked Iran in late February.
Pakistan has played a central role in the negotiations between Tehran and Washington that culminated in the signing of the interim agreement earlier this week.
The discussions focused on implementing key provisions of the MoU, including its first clause, which calls for an immediate and permanent cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon.
Another major provision under discussion is Article 11, which calls for the upfront release of billions of dollars of Iranian assets frozen abroad.
The parties also reviewed progress on Article 6 of the agreement, which provides for $300 billion in investment as part of reconstruction and development projects in Iran.
The American delegation, led by Vice President JD Vance, also held meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan.
US special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner are also in Switzerland for the negotiations.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said the talks were intended to follow up on the implementation of commitments already undertaken by the other side rather than to negotiate a final agreement.
Baghaei said negotiations on a final settlement remain conditional on the implementation of several key provisions of the MoU, including the first clause concerning the cessation of hostilities on all fronts, particularly in Lebanon.
The presidents of Iran and the United States signed the interim agreement on June 18 to pause their war for 60 days and discuss terms for a broader, final agreement.
