Nearly 90% of the residences were sold before construction was completed, and the development recorded almost $400 million in closings within less than 60 days, including several penthouse sales exceeding $15 million and $20 million, a building spokesperson told the New York Post. Residents at Vita have access to an array of private amenities, including a bayfront swimming pool, a fitness center, spa facilities, illuminated tennis, pickleball and padel courts, along with membership to the Grove Isle Racquet and Yacht Club.
Luxury meets local controversy
Despite its upscale appeal, Vita at Grove Isle has not been without controversy. Some longtime island residents spent years challenging the project, arguing that it violated a 1977 covenant limiting the total number of residential units on Grove Isle. Critics also alleged that the development bypassed certain city platting requirements before receiving construction approvals. CMC Group assumed control of the project in 2021 after previous delays.
