President Zardari returns to Pakistan after concluding private UK visit

• President Zardari says he is in good health after stay in London.

President Asif Ali Zardari has returned to Pakistan after completing a private visit to Britain, the Presidency said on Thursday.

In a post on the social media platform X, the President’s Secretariat said: “President Asif Ali Zardari has returned to Pakistan after completing his private visit abroad.

President Zardari departed for Britain on August 27 for the private visit, which marked his first trip to the country in approximately six years. He spent more than a week in London before returning to Pakistan.

Before leaving for the airport, President Zardari told Geo News that he was in good health.

Asked about his health, the president replied: “By the grace of Allah, I am well.”

When asked how his stay in London had been, the president said: “I had a good time in London.”

President Zardari, however, avoided answering questions about Pakistan’s current political situation and the ongoing debate over the proposed creation of new provinces and administrative units.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Tipu Usman, saw the president off before his departure for the airport. President Zardari was accompanied on his way back by his personal physician Dr Asim Hussain.

Sources said President Zardari underwent several medical check-ups during his stay in Britain. He did not participate in any political activity or hold formal political meetings during the visit.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari visited their father during his stay in London. He met his son Bilawal and daughter Bakhtawar on a daily basis while in London.
