Ben Affleck reveals kids hilarious take on his love life

Ben Affleck kids are not exactly buying his relationship advice – and one of them even thinks his life story belongs on a book cover.

The actor, 54, shared the family’s dinner table dynamic during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in Los Angeles. 

The Argo star, who shares Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 14, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, said his attempts to offer parenting wisdom now come with a side of eye-rolls.

“I give advice and try to talk to them, parent them as you do. What I found is that now it’s not only one teenager rolling their eyes, I’ll kind of launch into something at the dinner table and I’ll catch them giving each other looks and I realize I’m the caricature in this story.”

He thought he’d be the “cool dad,” but relationship talk has become a risky topic. 

“Oh, like you’re the expert on relationships?” Seraphina reportedly asked when he began sharing lessons from his own experience.

She also got him at a bookstore, pointing to a book titled I’m Sorry for Everything and telling him, “Oh look, dad, it’s your autobiography.” Affleck admitted, “I was kind of proud of them though.”

Affleck also revealed to Entertainment Weekly that he offered Garner a role in his upcoming film Animals, but she turned it down. 

He thought she’d be “amazing” as the politician’s wife and hoped they could coordinate schedules around their children.

But when he stepped into the lead role after Matt Damon dropped out, Garner warned him, “We don’t wanna do that. You just get baggage.”

Kerry Washington was eventually cast. Affleck said he “would love” to work with Garner again, calling her “fabulous” and saying they’re “really good friends.”

Animals arrives in theaters and on Netflix October 9.
