Brittany Mahomes shows support for Taylor Swift’s expanded ‘Showgirl’ album

Brittany Mahomes is showing her support for close friend Taylor Swift following the surprise announcement of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, an expanded edition of Swift’s blockbuster 2025 album featuring four additional songs. 

Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, reposted Swift’s announcement to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, September 23, adding a few enthusiastic emojis to show her excitement.

Swift explained the new material in her original announcement, framing the release as a spontaneous byproduct of celebrating the original album’s success. 

“About a year ago, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing. Something that completely blew my mind… You gave The Life of a Showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history,” she wrote. 

“I took a trip to Sweden to celebrate with Max and Shellback, my two collaborators on this album. Really we just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in, but there was a studio there and we did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs.”

Mahomes has grown close to Swift in the years since Swift began dating Travis Kelce, and the two were recently seen together at Patrick Mahomes’s belated birthday celebration at 1587 Prime, the Kansas City steakhouse co-owned by Kelce and Mahomes, where Swift and Kelce were photographed holding hands. 

This isn’t the first time Mahomes has publicly celebrated one of Swift’s album releases, she similarly shared photos of the elaborate PR gift box she received for the original Life of a Showgirl release back in October 2025, praising Swift at the time as “truly one of the best to ever do it.”
