Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are married

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are married.
The couple confirmed the news in a joint Instagram post on Tuesday, August 11, sharing a photo of their hands resting on top of each other, both wearing white and flashing their new wedding bands alongside Georgina’s engagement ring.
According to a press release, the pair wed in a civil ceremony that day in Cascais, Portugal, in a private and intimate moment attended by their five children.
Georgina captioned the announcement, “Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas”, “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.”
The date carries extra significance for the couple, it marks exactly one year since Georgina first announced their engagement on Instagram, on August 11, 2025.
The confirmation also puts to rest a wave of speculation from the weekend prior, when crowds mistakenly gathered on the island of Madeira, Ronaldo’s birthplace, believing the wedding was taking place there, it turned out to be an unrelated couple.
Ronaldo, 41, and Rodríguez, 32, met in 2016 and have been together ever since, sharing a blended family of five children, Ronaldo’s eldest son, Cristiano Jr., 16, twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 8, and daughters Alana, 7, and Bella, 3, whom he shares directly with Rodríguez.
The couple also endured the loss of Bella’s twin brother, who died shortly after the twins’ birth in 2022.
Reflecting on Ronaldo’s proposal in a December 2025 interview with Elle Spain, Rodríguez said she was completely caught off guard.
“The truth is, when he proposed, it was the last thing on my mind. It took me a long time to process the enormous stone he gave me. I was so shocked that I left it in my room and didn’t open it in the sunlight until the next day.”
Rodríguez, who gave fans a look into her life in the 2022 Netflix docuseries I Am Georgina, has spoken previously about the depth of their relationship, recalling in confessional footage that she never expected to fall so completely for him.
“I didn’t think at the beginning that [the relationship] would be this strong, that I would fall in love with her. I didn’t expect it, honestly. But after a while, I felt that she was the woman of my life.”
