Four India-backed terrorists killed in Balochistan’s Panjgur district: security sources

Security forces have killed four Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists during an operation conducted in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, security sources said on Monday.

The operation was conducted in Aphan-e-Koh and Prom areas of Panjgur following information about the presence of India-backed militants, they added.

According to the sources, security forces engaged the militants in an intense exchange of fire during the operation, killing four terrorists.

A large cache of sophisticated weapons and ammunition was recovered from the militants killed in the operation, the sources said.

Security forces will continue operations until the last terrorist is eliminated, they added.

The operation comes just a day after security forces foiled an attempt by terrorists to disrupt public movement on the N-25 highway near Kalat, killing five militants and safely recovering 23 hostages.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the terrorists had established a checkpoint on the highway to abduct people, extort money and seize vehicles.

Security forces responded promptly and killed five terrorists during the operation, while a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives was also recovered from the militants’ hideout.

Six trucks, three buses and two cars were recovered from the site, according to the ISPR.

Pakistan has witnessed a surge in terror activities, particularly in its Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, since 2021, when the Afghan Taliban came into power.

A day earlier, security forces killed eight militants while six Pakistan Army personnel embraced martyrdom during the exchange of fire in KP’s Hangu, according to the military’s media wing.

The ISPR said that the exchange of fire took place between the security forces convoy and Fitna al-Khawarij in Hangu District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Resultantly, it said eight terrorists were killed due to effective engagement by the troops.

During the intense fire exchange, the ISPR said six security personnel, including Captain Abuzar Farooq and Lieutenant Sheraz Babar, who were leading their troops from the front, fought gallantly and embraced martyrdom.
