Harry Styles honours late music icon Dolly Parton at MSG show

Harry Styles pays homage to biggest country legend, Dolly Parton, in his style.

The Watermelon Sugar singer, 32, during his Madison Square Garden performance took a moment to pay tribute to Parton, who passed on August 25.

He talks about his “inspiration” as he started talking about the late musician. “I wanna say a proper ‘Thank you’ to all the musicians over the years that’ve inspired me. Dolly, we love you, thank you so much,” he said to screaming supporters as the arena filled with cheers.

Soon after the heart warming tribute, Parton’s 1974 hit I Will Always Love You, began to play.

The crooner took the moment, put his mic on side and requested the crowd to sing along and dance on the ballad. In seconds, the venue was filled with the flash lights from people’s phone.

Parton breathed her last on August 25, after a “brief battle with cancer,” as per People magazine.

The tragic news was shared by the Jolene singer’s nephew Bryan Seaver, announcing her death in a video shared to her Instagram account.

“My name is Bryan Seaver, son of Cassie Parton, and I’m representing the Parton and Owens family today announcing the passing of my aunt, Dolly Rebecca Parton Dean, Sister, Sis and Granny to one generation and Gigi to the next,” Seaver said.

“This video announcement is something Dolly asked of me years ago, before I fully absorbed it as a future reality. As her head of security for more than two decades, a role my father Larry held before me, I have imagined the heaviness of this moment but haven’t truly felt it until now,” he continued.

After speaking fondly about his family’s “lifetime of beautiful memories,” Seaver concluded, “Rest in peace, Aunt Dolly — Aunt, Granny, Gigi. May God bless Dolly Parton, and may God bless you all. She will always love you.”

In addition to Styles, many stars including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, John Meyers, Miley Cyrus also paid tribute to the ultimate music icon.
