Jonathan Taylor Thomas resurfaces after years out of the spotlight

Jonathan Taylor Thomas may have left Hollywood years ago, but one surprise reunion has fans doing a double take.

The former Home Improvement star, now 44, has made a rare public appearance in a new photo shared by his TV mom, Patricia Richardson, giving longtime fans their first fresh glimpse of the famously private actor in years.

The reunion picture also features Taran Noah Smith, who played Thomas’ younger brother on the hit sitcom. With glasses and a low-key look, Thomas appears just as content staying out of the spotlight as he has for the past two decades.

After becoming one of the biggest teen stars of the 1990s as Randy Taylor on home Improvement, Thomas also voiced young Simba in Disney’s The Lion King and starred in The Adventures of Pinocchio.

He quietly stepped away from acting in 2005, later making a handful of guest appearances on Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing for a mini Home Improvement reunion.

Sightings of the actor have been few and far between, with paparazzi photos surfacing only occasionally over the years.

The latest cast reunion also serves as a reminder of how much life has changed since the sitcom ended.

Zachery Ty Bryan, who played the eldest Taylor brother, is currently serving a 16-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to a felony DUI charge.
