Kit Connor joins growing ‘X-Men’ cast as Cyclops: Report

Marvel may have found its next Cyclops.
According to Deadline, Heartstopper star Kit Connor is being eyed to play Scott Summers in the upcoming X-Men reboot, marking another major addition to the studio’s growing roster of young mutants.
If the casting moves forward, Connor would also reunite with his Heartstopper co-star Joe Locke in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Scott Summers has long been one of Marvel’s most recognisable mutants, having previously been portrayed by James Marsden in the original X-Men films and Tye Sheridan in the prequel movies. Marsden is set to reprise the role in Avengers: Doomsday later this year, a project expected to help pave the way for Marvel’s full-fledged X-Men relaunch.
The reported casting follows another major mutant reveal. Spider-Man: Brand New Day introduced Stranger Things star Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, setting up a familiar comic book pairing if Connor takes on Cyclops.
Marvel’s mutant roster continues to grow. Samara Weaving has reportedly been linked to Emma Frost, while Obsession actress Inde Navarrette has revealed she met with director Jake Schreier and expressed interest in playing Mystique.
