Megyn Kelly slams Kim Kardashian, Kanye West over North West’s new cover

Megyn Kelly is publicly criticising Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s approach to parenting their 13-year-old daughter, North West, following North’s appearance on the cover of Dazed magazine’s fall issue.

On Tuesday’s episode of The Megyn Kelly Show, Kelly, joined by Dr. Drew, took aim at the cover images, which showed North with blue hair, grills, heavy makeup and multiple facial piercings, shot by director Gus Van Sant.

Kelly also pointed to North’s ongoing music career, including her recently released debut project and plans to perform onstage, arguing that Kim and Kanye are “rushing” to turn their daughter into a star without fully weighing the potential downsides of early fame.

Dr. Drew echoed Kelly’s concerns, referencing bipolar disorder within North’s family history, an apparent reference to Kanye, and claiming, without offering evidence, that Kim and Kanye are parents who “have not been available” and “don’t look like they’re around all the time.”

He characterised the broader situation as a “guillotine” moment for North’s development.

Kelly and Drew’s comments join a wider wave of criticism directed at the couple following the cover’s release, including separate remarks from commentator Meghan McCain, who also appeared to question the parenting decisions behind North’s growing public profile, though she stopped short of naming Kim or Kanye directly.

North has previously indicated her parents do maintain some boundaries despite her increasingly public career, telling interviewers in the past that she isn’t allowed to get certain piercings she wants, including a bridge piercing.
