MQM-P holds consultation on budget strategy, urban Sindh development

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) held a consultative meeting on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui to discuss the party’s proposals for the recently passed Federal Budget 2026-27 and its political strategy, according to a party spokesperson.
The meeting was attended by former Sindh governor Kamran Tessori, senior party leaders Dr Farooq Sattar and Syed Aminul Haque.
According to the spokesperson, participants held detailed discussions on MQM-P’s proposals for the federal budget and reviewed a strategy for pursuing the party’s demands with the federal government.
The meeting also discussed constitutional amendments related to Article 140-A, a development package for urban Sindh and the party’s strategy regarding the return of the Sindh governorship to MQM-P.
The spokesperson said the meeting also decided to engage with the relevant authorities to ensure the completion of ongoing development projects and secure new projects for Karachi and Hyderabad under the new fiscal budget.
