Niall Horan marks 10th anniversary of his 1st solo song after One Direction

Niall Horan is celebrating 10 years since the launch of his solo career after One Direction disbanded.

On Tuesday, September 30, the 33-year-old musician marked the 10-year anniversary of his first solo song, This Town, which has since crossed a billion streams.

“This Town was released 10 years ago today. It was the first song I released out on my own and it’s so special to me for so many reasons,” Horan wrote on Instagram alongside several throwback photos.

“When I think back I remember a lot of big pop songs with big productions, around that time,” he continued. “I feel This Town stood out as it was just one voice and an acoustic guitar. After that, you guys all over the world really connected to it and it took on a life of its own.”

Horan noted that it’s “absolutely unbelievable” that the song has reached over a billion streams, noting, “I’ll never really be able to explain how grateful I am for all this and for your support. A few words on stage, a short caption is not enough words to explain how thankful I am.”

He added that he’s working on “a few special things to celebrate that will be coming very soon.”

“It was my song and now it’s ours. Happy 10 years of this town,” he concluded.

Over the past decade, Horan has come out with four albums and is currently on his fourth concert tour, Dinner Party: Live on Tour.
