Watch: Shipwreck found on Nantucket island during nor’easter storm

A powerful nor’easter storm has washed up what may be a shipwreck from the 19th century in Massachusetts, local media said.

The wreckage discovered on a beach on Sunday is believed to be part of the “Warren Sawyer” – which ran aground near Nantucket in 1884, according to the Nantucket Current.

Fragments of the wooden ship were also discovered in 2022 and 2023.

Heavy rainfall and dangerous coastal flooding have hit parts of north-eastern US, with more than 160,000 households experiencing power cuts.
