RM’s Pixel Project suspension divides BTS fans after Chris Brown uproar

RM’s Pixel Project suspension divides BTS fans after Usher show controversy

Kim Namjoon or RM from BTS is currently in the throes of criticism and backlash from fans ever since he and his bandmate J-Hope attended a Chris Brown and Usher concert.

The 31-year-old rapper was removed and suspended from the Pixel Project list of 16 male role models helping to stop violence against women, after he avoided releasing a statement against Brown or Usher in the days following the concert.

BTS fans or Army as they are called, continued their social media appeals for a statement of acknowledgement after they promoted the concert of musicians with a history of violence against women, but to no avail.

Thus, following the official suspension, while some fans thought it a drastic move, or impossible standards to hold the singer up to, others called it a “step in the right direction.”

Reacting to the news, fans flocked to the comments and wrote, “And they spit bars whole doing it,” as well as “Well deserved.”

A third chimed in, “He never belonged there in the first place. Heavily misogynistic lyrics written when he was a younger adult, speeches in which he subtly or directly put women down or not credit them at all… and I mean he is racist, how can a racist be a feminist? But truly a good step forwards.”

Another noted, “I questioned about this choice back in 2024 itself. The fact that these BTS men never spoke about serious issues in their own country but somehow are feminists?? It was a joke from the beginning.”

Whereas others claimed, “Suspending him for that is a reach. These people are obsessed with cancel culture for no reason,” and “rm never did anything wrong. this suspension is useless drama.”

The conversation continues on social media while RM or the band have maintained their silence over the situation.
