15 martyred as suicide bomber targets Swat police station

SWAT: Fifteen people were martyred — including six policemen — after a suicide bomber targeted Kabal Police Station in Swat on Sunday, according to local administration and police officials.
“The suicide bomber was attempting to enter Kabal Police Station, but officers on duty stopped him,” Malakand DIG Syed Fida Hussain told Geo News. He said the attacker detonated his explosives near the station’s gate.
Swat DPO Muhammad Omar said the explosion occurred near Kabal Chowk.
He added that a human head had been recovered from the blast site and was believed to belong to the suspected suicide bomber.
The DIG said a protest by local youths was also underway at the time of the explosion.
Earlier, he had said the blast left multiple people injured and that casualties were feared.
