Linda Blair sets record straight after police raid her animal rescue

Linda Blair is reassuring fans after authorities searched her California property over a reported kennel operation.

The Exorcist star broke her silence on Instagram just hours after the search on Friday, July 31, insisting both she and the animals were safe while describing the visit as a matter of paperwork rather than wrongdoing.

“Checking in I’m good,” Blair wrote. “The animals are good in lieu of our surprise visit in 105° heat!”

The 67-year-old actress continued, “With as busy as we all are in animal rescue and saving lives from the hot deserts and abandoned animals and shelters, everyone’s emails and social media are overloaded!”

Blair said the issue centred on documentation. “Turns out we just have some paperwork to do and some diagrams but as everybody knows, I’m looking to move so I can be more educational and help more animals.”

She also questioned why officials had not contacted her by mail beforehand.

According to People magazine, authorities executed an inspection warrant at Blair’s Southern California property following reports that it housed more than 100 dogs as part of a kennel operation. Officials said they were inspecting buildings, permit compliance, animal welfare and safety conditions, noting that the kennel’s permits had allegedly expired in 2023.

TMZ reported that no dogs were removed during the inspection and that Blair was “extremely cooperative.”

Through her Linda Blair-WorldHeart Foundation, the actress has long focused on rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming abused, neglected and abandoned animals.
